Last weekend, photos

Sunday Sergey took to a park, and I stayed home (preparing lunch).

My 3 little kiddos :)
This skateboard we had for 2 years , Danilka got for his b-day and never learned how to ride on it. It took Danik 20-23 minutes to learn how to ride on it, and he is getting better and better every time he use it.

When they came home, Sergey did steak outside! Stasik is the main helper, "if there is meat, Stasik is also there" :)))
Last Saturday we finally found and were able  to picked up free basketball hoop. Our boys were so excited! Also they all love  time when someone(adult), can go in front yard, and watch them while kids ride and play with their "toys". It was good Saturday :)

Haircuts

Wednesday kids were home, there was no school. I decided to give all our boys a haircuts. It was a lot of hair! It was my first time cutting Danik and Stasik's hair, and we all did great :) I still need more practice, but with 4 boys in the house, soon I will be  professional in cutting boys hair  :)

In the evening kids were just playing in the living room.

Love my kids! Thankful for every second in our life!

little bit of everything...

Denny had his first dentist appointment in his life, and he did great. I am so proud of my little boy! After x-rays and examination, doctor suggested that we go to main dental hospital, and do Denny's teeth all at once ,  sedate him to treat all the cavities. He needed to have work done on 9 teeth, and 4 of the teeth needed major work. Doctor recommended to not even try to fix it in their office, and just talked to us how would Denny be traumatized by whole thing, if we do his teeth in several appointment, and how we should do it in one appointment under sedation. .
We still decided to go and try to fix Denny's teeth during regular appointments, only with gas mask.
Denny did great! No moving, crying, or anything! Doctor is in shock :) us too :) Denny is a child that even a little scratch is a big deal, but as long as I apply a bandage on it, he is fine!

For last two weeks we had many things going on:

2 doctor appointments
3 dental appointments
few other meetings and appointments
one of our boys was suspended from school for a day, and I am still trying to figure out what happened.

today I found out that one of our kids off the bus for a week

had to buy 3 pair of new shoes(only two month of school)

found out today, one of the boys coats is at school already for 3 days, just laying outside on the playground bench  ( my child keep forgetting to bring home, even after a reminder from his brother)

Denny started preschool, and he loves it.

We have a birthday coming up in a week, and it's Danik's first birthday in America, oh , he is so exited!

Homework is killing me, actually I love helping and doing homework with my kids, but when kids are back from school they are so tired, and there is a lot of homework. Especially for Danik and Stasik, whatever I explain and work with them at home, they will know, and they still don't' do much at school.

There is no final decision with homeschool. We are praying, getting more information, and getting ready for what ever will come :)

Danilka is doing great at school, his behavior improved a lot  from last year! I am so proud of him! This Sunday he walked in front of our church, when pastor called everyone who needed God's love, and needed a prayer  to help in everyday life to make good choices. Danilka was paying attention what pastor was preaching about, and decided he want to change, he needs a prayer, and he needed God's help in his life! I am proud of him!

Homeschooling questions

We are seriously considering homeschooling for our kids. But I have no idea where to start and if I will be a good "teacher" for my kids. I have thousands of questions, and if anyone who is homeschooling can help me I will be really really appreciated.

Where do I start ??? What should I know before I start?
What are you currently using, what works best for your children? What curriculum and textbooks ?
What is approximately cost ? What materials will I need?
I know , I have many questions, but I really have no idea if I can do this. There is so much information out there about homeschooling that I am lost. We would  prefer christian materials.

There is many reasons we are thinking about homeschooling. I just feel that my boys don't' learn as much as they should learn at school. They come home and do their homework almost till bedtime, and most of the days they don't' even finish, and don't' have any free time to play. I think this is sad, and it shouldn't be this way.
Danilka does have most homework, and he is not doing well with it. Every day, with new school material I have to go over with him at home, because he doesn't understand at school, and need more time, different way to be explain it to him. Danilka is doing great in math, he is getting a and B, but when he gets a math problem with written instructions, or he needs to explain something in writing, he is lost.

Danik and Stasik don't' seem like they are doing much at school. Everyday when I ask them what they did for a day, their answer is ...playing on computer, coloring their book, they are taking coloring books from home to school. I really do like boy's teachers, and I think they are doing great job, but also I know that they have 25-32 students in classes, and don't have time to work individually with boys.

There is no English Second Language programs in school. And there is many reasons why we are thinking about homeschooling

Explanation to school

Stasik didnt' go to school for last 2 days, for being sick, and today he was feeling his normal, and went to school. He came back with  another citation...  Today, at playground Stasik played with a little stick, and he was throuwing around this wood stick(I think it was branch from a tree). Accidently he hit another student. While trying to explain to other kids, that it was not on purpose, and that it was an accident, he was pointing "wrong finger at her". We been working on this with Stasik for sometime now, since Ukraine he been pointing his middle finger at things, stuff, people and etc. We couldn't get him to start using "correct"finger and we knew that someday it will get him in-trouble. So here we are, trying to explain to others that it's ok for Stasik, and that he really didnt' mean anything bad. We will see tomorrow what his teacher will say to my explanation.

Surviving :)

Five down, two more to go :)
All started Sunday,  Denny got fever over 103, and it lasted for about 2 days. There was no other symptoms, only fever! Today he is coughing, but thanks God no fever...

Tuesday, Stasik got a fever too, it was around 102 only two times, and we gave him medicine only once, kept him home from school for two days and he is back to school today.

Yesterday, in the morning Danik said that he has a headache (no fever), and  went to school. About 2 hours later school nurse called, and said that Danik has a bad headache and no fever, so they just gave him a pill. We asked school nurse, to call us if Danik's headache will not go away in about 15-20 minutes and we will pick him up and bring home. In 30 minutes Danik was home crying and snuggling with me(it was not good that he was sick, but I saw more bonding, and this is great). He had 104 last night and we were able to get it down to 102 . I was checking Danik's fever till 1 am, and Sergey was waking up every hour during night to check on him. Yesterday Danik was feeling miserable with high fever and headache. Poor little guy! Today he is much better, and all day his fever was around 100-102, and now it's starting to getting high again.

At 5:30 am ElliAna woke me up to go to the bathroom, and she was warm. I checked her fever and it was 102, she is very stubborn girl :), and she refused to take any medication. I didn't' want to fight with her , and decided just to let her sleep with me in bed, so I can monitor her, and if her fever would get any higher , I would give her medicine. By the time she woke up at 9:00am she had no fever. Her body was fighting, and looks like her immune system is strong. All day today she wants mommy more than usually but she didn't' have any medicine yet, her fever all day is around 99.4-100, but is not getting higher which is good thing. She has runny nose...

Virus is in the house, and probably all of us will get some or all symptoms, but Sergey and Danilka still don't' feel it. I have no fever, but very weak and with headache. Please pray for us!
